Objectives

General objective:

To form human capital in the ICT area with a design-oriented focus, implementation and management of information processing and transmission systems, that will be able to generate a competitive advantage in different professional environments. A solid formation in the logical-mathematical area that allows those interested in this course to analyze and solve complex problems related to the design and implementation of electronic communication systems.

Specifics objectives:

This course has the objective of creating professionals that:

• CCan identify new uses in existing information technologies as well as generating knowledge in the telecommunications and networking area.
• Can respond to the level of complexity that has been reached by telecommunication systems with knowledge of computer science and expertise in local and wide area networking, wireless networks, satellite communications, radio frequency communications, embedded software and ubiquitous computing.
• Can develop the capabilities related to telecommunications and networking project management expected by companies, as well as being able to distinguish the technological needs of users and implementing solutions utilizing knowledge about networking, structured wiring, specialized software, protocols, etc.
• Can implement the necessary elements to guarantee the security of the hardware, software and the users through the use of good ICT practices.
• Can estimate the costs, feasibility, relevance and return of investment on ICT related projects.

Admission Profile

The Computer Science Faculty is looking for applicants with knowledge about:

• The basic operation of a computer.
• Basic geometry and trigonometry concepts.
• Algebraic operations, equations and precalculus concepts.
• The current political, economic and social environment.

Admission Requirements:

Applicants that want to enter this course must meet the following requirements:

• Having completed high school studies.
• Attend and approve the propedical course.
• Pass the selection exam Basic Skills and Knowledge Exam (EXHCOBA), or the one determined by the Academic Secretary of the Autonomous University of Queretaro.
• Reach the minimum entry score.

Grade Acquisition Requirements

The students of this educative program will acquire professional internship after fulfilling the following requirements:

• Having passed all the subjects of the study plan.
• Have done its professional practices.
• Have done its social service.
• Meet the rest of the requirements established on the UAQ Student’s Rules.
