Graduate Profile

Computer Science degree graduates will have the capability of improving the organizational processes taking advantage of the opportunities created by technological innovation, understanding and directing the requirements of information. Graduates will also design and manage the organizational architecture, identify and evaluate possible solutions for analyzing, managing and controlling a company’s organizational and information risks, interacting with the rest of the organization and working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment. Graduates will also facilitate decision making as well as process reengineering to manage knowledge and providing agility to a company.

Computer Science graduates will have knowledge about:

• The functions and activities of a company.
• Organizational development, personal direction, group management and decision making.
• Development and management of Information Systems to increase a company’s productivity and competitivity.
• BSearching for behavioural patterns inside a company’s data to detect opportunity areas and to help with decision making.
• Development of infrastructure solutions that are adequate for a company’s needs and size.

Computer Science graduates will have the abilities for:

• Getting a client’s needs and translating them into information system requirements.
• Working in teams to develop Information Systems
• Designing appropriate solutions using an organizational and ICT approach.
• Develop and implement Information Technology Systems aimed at business productivity.
• Acting as an information system implementation project leader.
• Analyzing, organizing and solving information systems in an organized and responsible manner to determine requirements as well as proposing alternative solutions against the need of technology.

• Computer Science Consultant.
• Manager of administrative software development projects in private and public companies.
• Investigation and contribution to the creation of knowledge.
• Information System development, which will help guide a company in their relations with its different operative, managing and directing areas, as well as the creation and management of databases.
• Create and maintain application software and information systems that may be required by a small, middle or big-sized company, like databanks and computer networks, developing creative and innovative solutions, working in government agencies or in private companies that work in the industrial, commercial or service fields, as well as being able to work independently.

Permanence

All the students on this educative program will be discharged and will lose their academic rights if they incur in any of the following:

• Accumulate a total of 3 NAs on the same subject of the study plan.
• Accumulate a total of 12 NAs on the study plan.
• Accumulate 50% or more NA on the subjects coursed in the first semester.
• By being definitely expelled ofthe University, as a sanction from the University Council.

The maximum period to pursue a syllabus, from the first enrollment for undergraduate students, the total duration of the study program will be one point five times.

Also, students must comply with the rest of the guidelines established in the current Student Regulations of the UAQ. Chapter III of the Trajectory and Permanence.
