| Admissions Requirements |

All aspiring entrants to the program must have obtained a bachelor’s degree in medicine, nursing or odontology with a specialization, must be graduates of an upper level institution, officially recognized by the Secretary of Public Education (SEP), and in the cases of foreign applicants must have their credentials revalidated by the SEP and the Secretary of Foreign Relations.

- Besides enrolling in the Ph.D. in Health Sciences program, entrants must satisfy the following requirements:
|
- Aspiring entrants with a master’s degree in health sciences may apply for enrollment in the area of their choice: medicine, medical education and socio-medicine.
|
- Aspiring entrants with a master’s degree in geriatrics may apply for enrollment in the areas of socio-medicine or medical education.
|
- Aspiring entrants with a diploma in a medical specialization and have completed 100% of the credits of the Master’s degree in Health Sciences or Geriatrics program at the UAQ, if they are still waiting for their title, may enroll as long as they receive their title within six months.

- Aspirants with a diploma in a medical specialization who have not completed a master’s degree in health sciences must fulfill the following requirements:

- Have published original articles in prestigious medical magazines within the last 5 years.
|
- Prove that they have at least ten years of teaching experience in a superior level educational institution in the area of health.
|
- Be approved by the Doctoral Tutorial Committee.
|
- Aspiring entrants with a bachelor’s degree in ondotology or nursing and a master’s degree in health sciences may apply for enrollment in the areas of medical education or socio-medicine.

- Write a letter of motives for wishing to enter the program.
|
- Write a preliminary plan of research of three pages maximum.
|
- Attend an interview with the Doctoral Committee of Health Sciences.
|
- Pass an evaluation of texts in English given by the Department of Languages and Letters of the UAQ.
|
- Present a curriculum vita.
|
- Thesis supervisors from other universities or institutions of upper level public education or foreign institutions must be approved by the Doctoral Tutorial Committee in Health Sciences of the Department of Medicine of the UAQ.

| Entrance Profile |

All entrants must possess the knowledge and skills of a Health Sciences professional, as well as be familiar with research methods and techniques. They must be capable of correctly developing proposals for research projects and have knowledge of the proper methodologies of research in medicine, nursing and odontology, as well as knowledge acquired from study of a master’s degree in health sciences.

- Graduates of the Ph.D. in Health Sciences program, from all three lines of study, will be able to:

- Demonstrate command over techniques and ideals of medicinal research in all their research projects, in the following ways: quantitative, qualitative and multi-methodic.

- Integrate and apply new knowledge to society.

- Through critical and purposeful response confront different knowledge and theories within the health sciences, from a philosophical perspective based on interdisciplinary integration.

- Produce conceptual constructions with respect to the necessities of the theoretical evolution of knowledge in the health sciences, in its different conceptions.
