Entrance Profile
Skills of observation and perception for recognizing details relating to people, objects, documents, places, and events, for the purpose of writing up a detailed description; skills of concentration; candidates must not suffer from any severe psychological disorders; skills of analysis and synthesis; interest in collaborating in the fostering of social harmony; physical health and mnemonic ability.
Knowledge of the social problems in the state and region, statistics, psychology, sociology, as well as research methods and techniques.
Graduate Profile
Graduates will have obtained extensive knowledge about penal law, the form and organization of its institutions, and the knowledge and understanding of the social and individual factors that determine the criminal behaviors of the subject. They will also understand the form of the crime and the mechanisms created by the State for the establishment of the sanctions and the redress to the victims. They will be provided a sufficient foundation to continue with master's degree studies.
Field of Work
Specialists will be able to work in a variety of contexts in penal law from counsel and litigation as a trial lawyer to court appointee in the context of the institutional defense of human rights.
