The Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, since its foundation has been concerned with quality teaching, academic betterment and the link with society in order to provide a congruent response to their needs. There has also been a constant commitment to increase an equitable student’s registration & diversifying the education’s pertinent offered programs. Education in Querétaro has unique characteristics: within the last thirty to forty years the State of Querétaro has had a very dynamic growth & development, mainly in the industrial sector resulting in the fact that more than half of the Internal Gross Product is generated by this sector. Such events place Querétaro at the top national levels in the international economic concert that actively participates in the globalized World in which we live. The described scenario demands a greater number of professionals. Such events have caused the investors to require intellectual capital to establish and develop their corporations, and for this reason, the number of Upper Education Institutions and Investigation Centers has grown at a parallel level, thus placing the State amongst the ten best in the country. Since the University has substantially changed within the spirit that I presently direct, we are presenting a totally updated (2010) second edition of the Education Offer catalogue which includes the curriculum plans & general information of the 166 Baccalaureate programs, Basic Technician, University Master Technician, Bachelor, Specialty, Master & Doctorate programs, grouped in the 13 faculties and in the Baccalaureate School. Additionally, we are providing general information about the University and the administrative procedures. We now have a quality University that during the year 2009 was acknowledged by the Secretary of Public Education for the third consecutive year for ranking 91.5% in the quality of its programs; 104 of these at the first level of the Inter-institutional Superior Education Evaluation Committees, 15 credited by the Council for the Superior Education Crediting, and 16 graduate programs in the Excellent CONACYT’s pattern. We have a high level Academic Faculty Staff integrated by 92.9% of professors with graduate degrees of which 43% possess Doctorate degrees, 207 have the desirable profile according to PROMETP, and 133 belong to the National Investigators System. The said professors integrate 25 Consolidated & under Consolidation Academic Bodies. I hope this catalogue to be a useful tool for the students that aspire to enter our University, for the ones that intend academic mobility, for the universities that are looking for academic cooperation and for the different sectors of our society in general. |
