Entrance Profile:
All students must be observant, possess dexterity and manual skills, a willingness to read and conduct research, ability to analyze and synthesize information, as well as apply critical interpretation and reflection. They must have an interest in art and graphic communication.
Graduate Profile:
Graduates will possess knowledge of the language and technical processes associated with artistic creation, communication, image and the analogical and digital methods of production of advanced technologies that are typical of new artistic discourses. They must achieve a relevant reception, as well as reflexive production and critiques of individual creative production through analysis and evaluation. They will be familiar with creative processes which allow visual artists to express ideas through the experimentation of processes sensible to the interpretation and representation of socio-cultural realities, as well as characteristics and the construction of different mediums associated with contemporary visual language. They will be skilled in the areas of production, postproduction, and the selection of digital resources adapted to the problems of individual creation.
Field of Work:
Within the Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts the field of work will be centered on methods of researchcharacterised by technological instrumentation, novel means and mediums, as well as research oriented toward the demand that these products may foment in the principal cities of the country and in foreign markets, placing the professional in a position to use new marketing approaches in their production offer.
In the field of academics, teaching is one of the most continuous and enriching branches, in respect to knowledge as well as to creative production. This, of course, involves learning the adequate methodological methods of research and using them to generate new knowledge. It also involves joining together the formative teaching-research process for the production of individual creative works with the application and development of theoretical knowledge. Marketing, publishing and the promotion of individual productions are also fundamental.
Students of the program will also need to demonstrate leadership, responsibility, the ability to overcome obstacles, dedication to collective and individual creative works, an open attitude to change, constant creativity, understanding for the social context in which their work and creative message will be received, professional ethics and dedication to the socio-cultural development of modern Mexico and its regional cultures.
Students will receive training in the ability to work in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams, select multimedia supports appropriate to the goals they wish to accomplish, and organize their projects in order to promote and diffuse their individual creations and productions.
