Graduate profile
Graduates will have the necessary training to provide original, economically viable and reliable solutions to the problems of professional practice in their area. They will also be equipped to teach in the bachelor’s or specialization programs. Lastly, they will be able to propose and develop research projects under the guidance of an advising researcher.
Field of Work
Currently the state of Querétaro has seen an accelerated growth in the construction of small greenhouses and the installation of large complexes of greenhouses, such as the San José Greenhouse in Pedro Escobedo, which covers ten hectares. A greenhouse park is also on the way in the community of Ajuchitlán, and will cover about 200 hectares. The growth of the greenhouse horticultural industry has accelerated in recent years, from 50 hectares in production in 1991 to 2,300 hectares in 2004. The largest increase has been reported in the states of Baja California Norte, Jalisco, and Sinaloa.
The areas of employment in the field of specialization in greenhouse production include work as an independent producer, a consultant for small producers, an employee in greenhouse complexes, water and climate control, and agricultural production.
